Optics Test Engineer Job in Guadalajara 45130, Jalisco Mexico

This position is responsible for providing technical guidance and support to Contract Manufactures for Testing of leading edge Optical and Electronics Assemblies in Guadalajara.  In this role, you will participate to the manufacturing transfer of high end optical transmission products from Canada to Mexico.   A significant part of the role will include close partnership with RD engineering and a strong leadership role with our CM partners.  The role also contains quality and cost reduction aspect by leading product and process Yields improvement programs, improving test process and conducting fault analysis on Customer products.

  

Specific Responsibilities:

 

·         Maintain, modify and develop optical products test HW and SW Fixtures, Programs, Procedures and Documentation.

·         Lead Yield and Process improvement.

·         Identify manufacturability and product performance improvement with product design team.

·         Resolve technical issues associated with product assembly and testing.

·         Provide technical assistance in refining manufacturing and test processes.

·         Introduce new products on current manufacturing and test processes.

·         Work with the factory to increase production/test efficiency, quality, and yield. Review test data, identify design related hardware and software problems.

·         Provide technical interface between engineering groups, program management, design and CM partner.

 

 Candidate Profile:  

  

·         New graduate with good technical background or with a few years of experience with relevant experiences like hands on experience in product testing debugging would be an asset

·         Good personal skills, Excellent written and spoken communication skills, ability to work into a manufacturing environment

·         Good team player, ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and to work under pressure

 

 Desired Characteristics:  

  

·         Strong SW and HW technical, good knowledge of DFT including ICT, JTAG CPLDs and FPGAs

·         Leadership skills to manage Technicians and commercial partners

·         Self-motivated, well-organized with a willingness to learn

·         Basic programming skill in C++, Delphi, NI TestStand,  LabWindows/CVI, MATLAB

·         Willing to travel and work under flexible schedule            

 

 Education / Experience:  

  

·         Bachelor's or Master degree in Electrical, Electronic or computer engineering

·         Fluent speaking and writing in Spanish and English is a must

·         Up to 8 years of experience in electronic manufacturing and testing or similar industry

·         Experience with optical transmission products will be an asset
