Position Description HS Diploma/GED, completion of an approved course for Surgical Technicians ANDBasic Life Support Certification required. Prefer one year experience in surgical setting. Must be registered to practice with the state of Colorado. Ability to primarily scrub ortho total joint cases. Will be required to scrub any and all other ortho cases too. Will be required to do back-up scrubbing for any other case as deemed necessary for the department and schedule. Will also be required to prepare surgical suite with appropriate instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment according to procedure and surgeon preferences. Will be responsible for instrument/supply assembly, maintaining the sterile field, hand off of instruments and initiating counts throughout procedures. Will need to provide intra operative scrub assistance to ortho surgeons, team and patients as needed for cases. Will need to be proficient at ortho implant instrumentation and case procedure steps. Will need to perform unit specific competencies. Ortho call coverage is required. Specialty team pay differential with this position!! Certified Surgical Technician with 1-2 years experience in scrubbing ortho cases, primarily total joints strongly preferred.
