Role Summary/Purpose
The Oracle Applications Database Administrator (DBA) will serve as technical expert responsible for design implementation of database (DB) technology. In this role you will set / administer standards for the organization's relational DB structure / architecture, execute projects as needed, ensure plans for DB technologies integrate effectively with other aspects of the technology infrastructure, and advise management on technology / IT purchases, upgrades, modifications.
Essential Responsibilities
Upgrade, configure, tune, and debug all components of the Oracle 11i and R12 Applications technology stack including Oracle 10G and 11G databases
Plan, execute, and support continuous production rollouts of new functionality utilizing latest Oracle Applications AD utilities
Plan and execute strategy to stay current on Oracle Applications technology and releases
Provide evaluation, architecture, and integration skills to implement and support 3rd Party products within the Oracle framework
Architect HA / DR solutions to ensure application availability
Contribute to overall capacity planning and configuration management of the supporting infrastructure
Work with the Corporate Information Services (CIS) Security Team to promptly address any security issues
Identify and lead automation of repetitive processes to minimize errors and maximize service delivery
Document processes and train team members within an onsite / offsite resource model
Integrate with a larger DBA team that supports other custom Oracle database applications
Work effectively across various support teams and with senior management
Apply Six Sigma methodology to all aspects of the applications
Research DB technology, determine business requirements, propose changes, and develop migration and implementation plans
Work with application teams and business leaders to formulate project plans and strategy
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma / GED
Minimum 3 years of experience in Oracle 10G database administration experience including implementations, upgrades, and performance tuning (SQL, OEM, and PL / SQL)
Minimum 3 years of experience in Oracle Applications administration experience through 11.5.10 including installations, problem analysis, problem resolution, configuration, and performance tuning
Minimum 3 years of experience with Linux and or Solaris operating systems
Minimum 3 years of experience with problem analysis / resolution for O/S, database, and middle tier technologies

Desired Characteristics
Minimum 3 years of experience with multi-lingual Oracle Application implementations
Minimum 3 years of experience in Oracle 9i administration experience including implementations, upgrades, and performance tuning (SQL, OEM, and PL / SQL)
Minimum 3 years of experience of authoring and maintaining UNIX shell scripts
Minimum 3 years of experience supporting high availability and disaster recovery solutions
Experience in Oracle RAC, Dataguard, Oracle streams, Grid control
Experience with the Oracle Application modules iProcurement, HR, or Financials
Experience with EMC SRDF and BCV technologies
Experience with NetApp storage and associated technologies
Experience with multi-lingual Oracle implementations and UTF8
Experience with Oracle 10gAS administration including installations, problem analysis, problem resolution, configuration, and performance tuning
Knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts
Data Modeling and ERD design experience
Minimum 3 years of project management experience
Strong skills in new product evaluation, architecture, implementation, and integration with Oracle databases and Oracle Applications
Excellent verbal and written communication, cross-team training, and documentation skills
Willingness to support 24/7/365 applications including on call rotations
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science related field, or equivalent relevant experience
Strong track record of understanding and interest in current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience and/or industry activities
Strong team player – collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources
