Oracle Business Systems Analyst (BSA)

This position resides within our IT Corporate Applications practice.

The Oracle Business Systems Analyst (BSA), reporting to the ERP Production Manager, will be responsible for working closely with end-users, internal developers, and vendors, to create business and functional requirements, system flow diagrams and other documentation required to support and enhance internal applications. S/he must be able to provide creative and alternative workflows and solutions to business needs and issues. S/He will work on complex problems by analyzing current business methods and available systems for improvement. The ability to communicate complex business and technical concepts, both in writing and orally, to a varied audience is important. Although this is not a programming position, the ability to understand and create SQL queries, analyze data, and work with reporting tools is required.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Analyzing business requests and developing system requirements to meet internal company business rules and system data flow considerations.
• Documenting requirements, defining scope and objectives, and formulating systems to parallel overall business strategies
• Ability to rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, while performing a variety of tasks. Leading and directing the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
• Using available tools, analyze business needs and data to provide data extracts and reports. Create and manipulate data for testing and production data needs.
• Providing system and user support by analyzing, documenting and tracking reported system problems. Providing temporary manual solutions to clients for system problems.
• Developing and executing test matrices and test cases for software testing of functionality and compliance prior to releasing to the client community.
• Functioning as a liaison between the client community and internal/external IT and/or external software vendors to develop system solutions to processing systems, or business problems while following the SDLC process.
• Assisting in preparation of detailed IT project plans as well as articulating system dependencies and risks as input to project plans

• 7+ years of experience working with Oracle Financial applications suite - or individual Financials modules such as GL, AP, AR, OTL/OIE, Project Accounting, Fixed Assets, Purchasing, Advanced Collections, Cash Management
• Thorough understanding of Oracle ERP utilities like flexfields, value sets, and lookups..
• Significant experience developing system specifications, data flow or workflow diagrams, and business requirements;
• Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills; Able to submit and communicate with Oracle on SR's.
• Experience as a systems analyst, business analyst or Consultant, working in a large multi-national organization;
• Experience in creating and developing testing matrices as well as fully executing them in an iterative manner.
• Extensive knowledge of SQL query writing and reporting tools such as SQL Reporting, SQL Analysis services, Excel, etc • Able to create Oracle ERP module training materials and conduct training classes for varied user skill levels.
• Experience with software development lifecycle and IT best practices, change management, database administration.
• Excellent writing and oral communication skills are required.
• Proficient in Excel, Word and experience developing diagrams with Visio (or similar) required
• Experience working with outside/offshore vendors to achieve system, data, and enterprise goals a plus
• Requires a college degree and 7+ years of relevant Oracle experience in areas that relate to or include accounting or information technology.
