Oracle database developer is required to work on various aspects of the core oracle database underpinning the market risk systems. This includes advising and database strategy within Market Risk, design and implementation of new functionality, assisting junior developer, conducting code reviews and third level support.
As an Oracle Database Developer your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
• An advanced knowledge of Oracle application development with SQL and PL/SQL
• Experience of managing large-scale Oracle data warehouse systems
• A track record of application delivery and implementing multi-node real application clusters
• Competent in Unix environment, knowledge of shell scripting and common Unix tools.
• An expert knowledge of Oracle RDBMS architecture and data loading methods
• Experience of applying query tuning techniques
As an Oracle DB Developer your main responsibilities will involve:
• Implementing change requests and new features
• Monitoring database performance and optimising SQL
• Locating and resolving performance and scalability issues in code
• Writing code to implement business logic
• Ensuring that code and development practices meet all standards
