Oracle DBA/Database Administrator
Oracle Database Administrator required for our banking client based in London to sit within the Infrastructure Database Services Team. This position requires supporting the various trading systems and reporting databases ensuring their performance, availability and security. In addition to Oracle skills, SQL server knowledge will be required to support the corresponding SQL server databases.
Candidates will require:
Essential:
- Banking / Financial Sector Experience
- 5+ year working in a DBA role
- Proven administration and performance and tuning skills
- Broad technical knowledge:
- RDBMS (Oracle versions 9 /10G / 11G, SQL Server 2000 / 2005 /2008)
- Sybase knowledge desirable but not essential
- Oracle OEM plus Quest tools (TOAD, PL/SQL Developer)
- Unix (Solaris)
- Linux
- Windows
- CTRL-M
- BMC PATROL
- Good understanding of IT architecture
- Resourceful, proactive, accurate
- Focused and motivated
Desirable:
- Investment banking background, preferably in an infrastructure role
- Knowledge of banking applications: Sophis, Wall street, Swift Global 1
- Knowledge of infrastructure applications: Quest tools, BMC Control M, Patrol, Veritas Cluster, zfs
- SQL server tools : Spotlight, Litespeed, Capacity manager
