The Database Administrator (L2) is responsible for the installation, configuration, upgrades, maintenance, and overall troubleshooting and support of our databases and related application servers in an Oracle E-business Suite environment.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Install, configure, and support Oracle E-business Suite and associated applications.
· Perform cloning, patching, and code migrations as necessary to support business requirements.
· Monitor for software notifications and updates and coordinate downtime for necessary upgrades with operations as necessary.
· Perform database monitoring, performance tuning and capacity planning.
· Configure database and application backups. Develop and maintain backup and recovery procedures.
· Create and maintain system documentation including Oracle database operational procedures.
· Develop and maintain disaster recovery capabilities for Oracle databases and create, maintain, and test disaster recovery procedures.
· Setup and administer Oracle database security and ensure the integrity and security of databases is maintained at all times.
· Troubleshoot database problems and work with inside and outside resources as necessary to resolve them.
· Develop, test and implement shell/perl scripts as required to automate database administration tasks.
III. Educational and/or Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field or experience equivalent to education.
· Must have a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Oracle database administration.
· Minimum of 3 years experience supporting an Oracle applications environment.
· Experience supporting Oracle ERP related applications including SOA Suite, OBIEE, Demantra, OWSM, and ASCP.
· Experience with database clustering technologies including OCFS and RAC.
· Experience with setup and administration of Oracle Dataguard.
· Fluent in Oracle database system administration tools including Oracle Enterprise Manager, RMAN, Datapump, Trace, etc.
· Experience installing and configuring applications on Redhat Linux.
· SSO-OID experience desired.
· Experience with other database technologies including MySQL and MS SQL a plus.
· Oracle related certifications a plus.
