Oracle DBA (Security Services) recruitment
Reporting to the DBA Team Lead, your challenging new role will require you to:
- Maintain database security
- Work with other DBA's in the team to build and scale databases for growth, security, and resilience.
- Perform database software upgrades, application upgrades and database software installations.
- Implement and maintain backup and archiving procedures in line with business and regulatory requirements
- Monitor Production Systems to ensure maximum system availability
- Maintain the production, DR and test databases.
Our DBAs are highly skilled, valued members of the business and can also expect to:
- Perform database tuning and performance monitoring, Resolving performance issues, tuning and optimisation.
- Assist the development and testing teams in the rollout of scheduled releases.
- Implementing Peter Evans (TRACS ) and EFO (J2EE) database application releases
- Monitor and maintain Shareplex and other database replication tools.
- Work as part of a team to provide 7x24 supports when required.
- Take part in the On-call rota and Emergency Call-Out
- Carry out tasks assigned by DBA team Lead

- External contacts: Oracle and Oracle support tools suppliers
Past experience
Mandatory Skills and Experience:
- 3 years Oracle DBA experience (ideally Oracle 11g).
- Oracle performance troubleshooting skills including SQL tuning
- Knowledge of Oracle backup, failover and disaster recovery processes (Oracle RMAN).
- Experience of SQL, PL/SQL
- Practical use and implementation of database monitoring tools.
- Hands on experience of UNIX operating systems
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of Quest product toolset including Shareplex
- AIX experience
- Financial Services experience
