Experience Level: 6+ Years

 

Desired Competencies (Technical/Behavioral Competency):

 

Must-Have

·         6+ Years of relevant exposure to Oracle Database Administration.

·         Very good communication.

·         Extensive working knowledge of Oracle 9i, 10g and good to have 11g.

·         Installation, configuration Oracle server software and related products with Unix AIX platform

·         Very strong troubleshooting skill set at server and database level

·         Very good performance tuning. Has worked with Statspack, AWR, SQL tuning, TKPROF extensively.

·         Implement backup and recovery of the Oracle database and good exposure to RMAN

·         Good exposure to Database upgrades both version and patch set and database migrations

·         Setup and maintain documentation and standards

·         Mentor team members

·         Good exposure to client management onshore.

 

Good-to-Have

·         Worked in 24X7 production support

·         Database monitoring tools

 

Responsibilities:

·         Troubleshooting for day to day issues in Oracle DBA production/non-prod environment.

·         Installation and patching for Oracle Databases.

·         Taking backup and recovery/cloning of database

·         Creation of new databases

·         Doing performance tuning for the databases

·         Security management at database level.

·         Space management for databases

·         Monitoring of database health and remediating it ontime.

·         Patch management for Oracle database

·         24X7 production support (oncall / shifts – as required)

·         Working in onsite-offshore team structure

·         Client interaction  and  Coordination with offshore team
