Oracle Performance DBA recruitment
The Oracle Performance DBA / Manager will be responsible for Oracle database performance review and tuning, from both database system configuration perspective and application design perspective. He/She will lead and drive the ongoing upgrade to new Oracle release and the server migration of existing databases from obsolete hardware platform to new ones. He/She will have proficiency in database administration focusing on system performance tuning, application development support and architectural areas. He/She will also need to have project management skills and caliber to collaborate with a variety of external groups like application development, platform support, third party hosting service providers etc to accomplish those projects.
Key Accountabilities;
- Review and resolve database performance issues through tuning
- Review and approve application changes move from database performance perspective
- Develop and maintain standard database configuration procedures to ensure consistently performing database setup
- Design, publish, and promote database programming best practices that will lead to good application performance
- Plan, manage and lead major database upgrade and migration projects
- Maintain the database performance portal
Successful candidate;

Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Information Technology or Engineering-related discipline with minimum of 7 years IT experience
- Experience with database design and modeling using Oracle, different Oracle tuning strategies, and indexes design and partitioning
- Proficiency in DBMS administration from a development, support and architecture standpoint
- Strong experience in project management of database implementation projects involving multiple parties including application development teams.
- Familiarity with applications programming concepts and the ability to code at least one programming language such as UNIX scripting or C, and SQL and PL/SQL for Oracle
- Experience with a second DBMS (e.g. DB2, Teradata) is an advantage
- Strong communication, interpersonal and collaborative skills. Work well within a team as well as across multiple external teams from different geographical locations. Motivated, self starter
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in an 24x7 UNIX (AIX) environment utilizing Oracle.
- It is essential for the candidate to have hands-on experience with system performance tuning and troubleshooting with application
