Our client is a major bank with a strong franchise in Singapore and the region. With continuing focus on operational excellence and risk management, it is recruiting a dynamic individual for the Operational Risk Management division.

Reporting to the Group TO ORM Policy and Assurance Head, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the regional operations governance and quality assurance of the Group’s Technology and Operations functions.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

•            Provide advice to TO and business units on operating process and system of controls across all businesses including retail, corporate and commercial banking, treasury and capital markets, investment management and securities operations.

•            Work with Operating Centers / Centre of Excellence to facilitate TO operations risk monitoring effectiveness (through KORIs, risk incidents and customer complaints) and contribute to the improvement of governance and control processes.

•            Develop and enhance core competencies of Process Quality Project Advisory team to ensure that they have the relevant and necessary expertise to carry out their job.

•            Coordinate the activities of the Process Quality Project Advisory team with the work of the Targeted Control Review team.

•            Look into areas of high risk and determine if adequate management controls are in place and whether Group TO’s and other key institutional policies and guidelines as well as regulatory requirements are adhered to.

•            Investigate customer feedback to ensure policy, process and service issues are satisfactorily resolved and adequate preventive measures are put in place.

•            Review, analyze and report the regional operations control health of Group TO to ensure that Key Performance Indicators are met.

Degree qualified, you will have at least 10 – 15 years of relevant experience in ORM and related functions including few years in leadership positions. Proven experience in either external or internal audit, risk management, compliance, operations functions or process management of a financial services institution is required. Experience in quality and/or process improvement or surveillance methodologies in banking operations will be favorably considered. You are technically competent and hands-on yet able to demonstrate strong leadership and supervisory skills to motivate and influence a team, to achieve team objectives. You are positive, conceptual, analytical and strategic-minded, with a high level of integrity and sense of urgency. A team player and able to perform well in a fast-paced environment, you are adaptable in multi-cultural settings.
