OTC Client Clearing – Collateral Client Service Team recruitment

Background of OTCDCC:
OTC Derivative Client Clearing is responsible for the front to back operations related to the clearing of all eligible OTC derivative products via a central clearing house.  Primary responsibilities for Derivative Client Clearing include trade capture, client on boarding, collateral management and client service.  In addition, as a growing organisation, the team is responsible for the implementation of solutions to facilitate clearing of these products across multiple areas of the Firm.  

Job Description:
There is currently a permanent position available for an individual at the Director level in a new and growing team to deliver an industry leading client clearing service. The individual will be working within a growing global collateral client service team, responsible for assisting in the development of client clearing.

The candidate will need to be comfortable dealing with ambiguity and managing multiple deadlines, and be a self starter in a team that is set to grow substantially as the regulatory environment changes over the next 2 years. As the candidate develops their knowledge of the clearing space, the scope of their role will grow. In the medium term it is expected that the candidate will be able to operate with minimal supervision and will gain full ownership of significant pieces of the collateral and client service process.

Function / roles and responsibilities:
Due to the evolving processes, from both a client and Firm perspective as the clearing environment evolves, the successful candidate will need to display a broad set of skills, though the main focus will be on technical and product knowledge, attention to detail, organisation and communication.

The role can be broken down into:
• Working with internal/external parties to understand and meet changing regulatory requirements
• Interacting with BU contacts to develop the client offering.
• Candidate will be expected to challenge and scope out processes for new business
• Developing relations with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and drive change
• Creating system/process requirements and ensuring successful implementation,
• Candidate should be a self-starter with the ability to work on their own initiative as well as be a solid team player
• Assist and help prioritise all client requests for  IT and reporting enhancements
• Liaise between the client and Operations Technology to assist with testing of new functionality

Skills Required:
• Bachelors Degree (or equivalent) - analytical, financial or mathematically related subject favoured
• Demonstrate an awareness of the differences between FCM and SCM Clearing models
• Previous OTC collateral management or listed experience favoured
• Candidate should be able to organise themselves efficiently, keep track of multiple outstanding items and meet tight deadlines
• Candidate should demonstrate capability of project work and unsupervised working
• Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills, being able to communicate clearly and concisely, moderating style and delivery to suit different parties and media
• Ability to question and challenge processes
• Candidate should be able to organise themselves efficiently, keep track of multiple outstanding items and meet tight deadlines

Skills Desired:
• Experience or working knowledge of client clearing and demonstrate an understanding of common terms such as variation margin and initial margin
• Experience in dealing with OTC Derivatives
• Ability to balance project deliverables with daily processes
• Project Management skills
