OTC Derivative Documentation – Leading Hedge Fund recruitment
The Role
Working in a Middle Office team supporting trading activities across a diverse product range, the role is a mixture of regular tasks, ad hoc queries and project work, geared to ensuring the smooth running of the day to day operations in accordance with high control standards. The key aspects of the role are as follows:
OTC Derivatives Documentation - coordination of the structured confirmation approval process in line with ISDA protocol. Product areas include exotic equity derivatives, IRD, Credit, Commodities and Fixed Income. Interaction with counterparties, the administrator and traders to ensure the timely and accurate execution of confirmations. Liaison with external counsel in the negotiation of product confirmation templates with counterparties. Implementation of equity derivatives MCAs.
UCITS / managed account business support – Support of trading activity in interest rate derivatives, local emerging market bonds, OTC FX and equity derivatives. Daily monitoring of collateral and funding requirements. Coordination of hedging requirements in response to subscription / redemption flows. Daily counterparty position reconciliation. Regular interaction with Treasury and Fund Control and Administrator.
Par/Distressed Loan Support - Operational support for the US loan and private equity business. Coordination across various business areas including risk, accounting, external counsel, treasury, legal and the trading desk to ensure trades are settled/closed in a timely manner and in accordance with LSTA documentation. Maintenance and improvement of internal control procedures.
General: assistance with on-boarding process for new funds and participation in OTC centralized clearing
• Excellent understanding of ISDA and related bespoke documentation with a strong emphasis on exotic equity derivatives, including, for example, variance and volatility swaps with conditional, knock-out/knock-in, cap features and options on equity baskets
• Good understanding of operational risks associated with a derivatives-intensive business and desire to improve the business platform
• Ideally has experience across a range of asset classes and understands the front to back workflow
• Good problem solving capabilities
• Tech literate in as much as is needed to get the job done
• Self-motivated/proactive and perform well under pressure – need to be able to cope in a front office environment
• Able to cope with multiple deadlines and changing priorities
• Enthusiastic, flexible and adaptable.
• Minimum – 2:1 Degree
• Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good level of IT literacy (familiar with basic functions in Excel, abilities to write SQL a plus)
• Excellent communication skills
• Organised, with a keen attention to detail and ability to adhere to tight deadlines
• Keen interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team and build and maintain cross functional relationships.
