OTC Derivatives Manager recruitment

An opportunity has arisen for a team manager for a cross product Collateral Margining team. The successful candidate will manage a team of 14, including 2 Team Leaders, and will have responsibility for execution and control of the daily exposure management processes for collateralised relationships. Due to the pivotal position within the department the role has significant associated improvement targets under themes of control, commercial and people. The people management aspect is more important than prior collateral knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:
• Responsibility for the day to day control and execution of the daily call process.
• Provision of sound risk management to the process and enforcing the culture of risk management within the team.
• Providing a key point of escalation for sales, trading and risk teams.
• The development and implementation of collateral support processes for new and often complex products.
• Continuous improvement to the processes in both control and efficiency through both self managed and team driven projects.
• People management and personal development for 14 individuals including 2 Team Leaders.
• Liaising closely with clients to improve service and for escalation.

Required skills:

• Degree or equivalent (analytical, financial or mathematically related subject preferred).
• Proven exposure to OTC Derivative products and the collateral process.
• Experience in both people and operations management, including people development, risk management and driving continuous improvement.
• Demonstration in their past work experience of robust analytical skills, high attention to detail and process improvement.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills, being able to communicate clearly and concisely, moderating style and delivery to suit different parties and media.
• Candidate should be able to organise themselves efficiently, managing multiple projects and deadlines.
• Candidate should be a self-starter with the ability to work either on their own initiative as well as be a solid team player.
