OTC Rates Trade Support Analyst recruitment

Experienced Rates Analyst required to join our Rates DMO (Derivatives Middle Office) Trade Support team which performs a variety of key Trade Support controls and tasks for the EMEA OTC Rates team. The role provides the opportunity to increase and consolidate both product and process knowledge. Exposure to the FICC traders, ops and finance will enable the successful candidate to gain a thorough understanding of the front to back process, allowing them to employ and demonstrate their expertise across the bank.
The core function of the role will be to support initiatives for the Rates trading desks. The role will have a global impact and will involve extensive liaison across all divisions of the bank including Trading, Business Management, Operations, Credit and Market Risk. Duties will include and not limited to the following:
- Rebooking of trades to account for underlying data changes.
- Rebooking of trades to take into account new analytical models.
- Development of booking methodologies for non-vanilla transactions.
- Liaison with both Front Office and downstream functions to minimise the impact of trade amendments on normal daily business.
- Establishment of controls and procedures to validate the Risk and PL impact of trade amendments.
- On going validation and reporting of progress.
- Updating of procedures and processes to include new best practices.
- Involvement in project work stream’s preparing for regulatory trade reporting.
- Flexibility to support / act as cover for other members of the team.
Role requirements:
- Graduate level or equivalent
- Previous track record within a similar Trade Support/Controls function with demonstrable experience of dealing with large complex trade volumes
- Thorough knowledge of OTC IR derivative products and market standards
- Numerate and analytical – including a solid understanding of MS Excel
- Strong interpersonal skills are required in order to build a wide and strong network both in Ops and the Front Office.
- Confident in resolving problems (root cause analysis) and the ability to utilise their contacts and understanding to close out issues.
- Focus on continuously improving the processes they own, taking accountability and responsibility for the successful resolution of the daily tasks while implementing capacity saving improvements.
