National Sales Manager, Fitness Outdoor
Job Description
Position Overview
Sales management of select national and regional retail accounts to sell, market, promote and forecast Magellan and Mio branded products and services for profitable growth and business expansion.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- 5 to 10 years of Fitness and Outdoor retail sales experience in the US - with sales of Fitness / Outdoor GPS products a plus
- Must have a proven, successful sales record working for a branded manufacturer
- Must have total management skills, supporting not only product sales but credit, operations, forecasting and overall account management
- Must be able to sell at multi levels within each account
- Must possess the ability to work with marketing, product management, operations and finance to insure all the accounts are well managed and are completely supported
- Must have the capacity to anticipate problems, and to manage through the numerous challenges of a competitive product category and uncertain economic environment
- Candidate must be willing to travel weekly
- Must be able to manage conflict and to overcome objections
- Candidate must be able to operate at the highest level of ethical, legal business practices and to follow the company’s code of conduct
- Ability to work with teams to achieve resolution of issues and opportunities is required
- Must have highly developed organization skills and the ability to multi task
- Candidate must come well recommended by current and past customers
- This position will report to the Senior Sales Director, Outdoor and Fitness
Required Experience, Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Experience in multi level selling with management focus
- Strong commitment to meeting and exceeding goals, deadlines, and commitments
- Strong presentation, written, and non combative negotiation skills are required
- Solid analytical skills in the area of forecasting product sales, trends and requirements
- Must be self starter and self sufficient; as well as a team player, with the right balance of drive and aggressiveness while at the same time treating team members and other employees with respect and support
- Strong, outgoing, personality with highly developed interpersonal skills
- Successful retail sales of nationally branded products selling history a must
- Must have experience in the Outdoor and/or the Fitness channel
Required Education and Training
- Undergraduate degree in Business, an advanced degree a plus
- High level of basic business computer knowledge, i.e., Word, Outlook, Power Point, Excel, etc.
