Outreach and AfterCare Worker

The Hadhari Nari Women's Project works to ensure that women and children who are victims of domestic abuse in the Derbyshire Dales and county wide are provided with, quality advice, information, support and temporary accommodation on request, and take ALL possible steps to cater for and improve the well being of ALL women and children escaping domestic violence, but targeting Black Asian Minority Ethnic Refugee (BAMER) community.

Funded by Derbyshire County Council, we welcome applications from women with excellent people skills, who are able to demonstrate an understanding, knowledge and experience of working with domestic abuse victims and an awareness of related issues surrounding women and children who have experienced domestic violence. (Voluntary experience also qualifies). This is an interim contract for 1 year.

To be successful in this role you will have excellent communication skills,( both verbally and in writing) and the ability to speak another language would be advantageous. You will have clear knowledge and an understanding of relevant legislation, including health and safety issues relating to the care and support of vulnerable adults and children.

The successful post holder will plan, further develop, organise and control the provision of outreach and aftercare services, ensuring information, advice and support on a wide range of issues is given in a variety of settings in order that individuals may access the service. You will have the ability to prioritise your workload and manage your time effectively whilst working flexibly to meet the needs of the service provided. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle including insurance for business is essential.

Due to the nature of the role, it is exempt under the Equality Act 2010 pursuant to Schedule 9, Part 1 and as such we can only consider applications from women only.

Salary:£17,439 - £18,297, per annum, pro rata
