Title: Outside Sales / Account Manager
Reports to: President / CEO
Summary of Position:
As a key member of Index’s sales and marketing team, manage and direct all outside sales efforts and customer support functions to specific accounts. Through proactive and self-directed effort deepen current customer relationships, expand current sales channels, identify new sales channels, assist with market understanding, and manage customer accounts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Outside Sales:
· Manage own outside sales efforts.
· Collaborate with and support all sales efforts.
· Collaborate with and effectively utilize sales support team to advance outside sales.
· Establish and maintain strong, solution-based partner-relationships with customers.
· Identify, develop, and secure all available sales opportunities.
· Drive product sales to existing customers.
· Identify and drive product sales to new customer and channels.
· Expand new product sales opportunities to both existing and new customers.
· Collect, share and act on market information.
· Participate in the use of The Salesforce CRM system for sales and customer support.
· Participate in a collaborative sales effort.
Customer Support:
· Provide best in class, value-added service to existing and prospective customers.
· Collaborate with inside customer support team to ensure seamless communication.
· Participate in customer issue resolution and post issue follow-up.
· Participate with Operations Manager in the continuous improvement efforts.
· Manage customer orders from owned accounts.
· Manage customer satisfaction and order follow-up on owned accounts.
· Collect, share and act on customer support information within this scope of this role.
Position Requirements / Qualifications:
· Demonstrated sales and close ability.
· Demonstrated knowledge of complex sales methodologies.
· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple sales opportunities with long sales cycles.
· Demonstrated sales and close ability using phone and web based tools.
· Strong organizational skills.
· Ability to convey vision and objectives to the sales team and company President.
· Highly developed interpersonal communication skills – written and verbal. One-on-one and within groups.
· Ability to learn, retain, and clearly express a deep level of product knowledge.
· Ability to concisely convey technical information over the phone, through electronic communication, and in interpersonal communications.
· Must be highly competent and comfortable in the use of computers and Information Technology.
· Strong applied knowledge of Word, Excel, CRM Systems, etc.
Education and Experience:
Desired:
· Formal sales training in complex sales techniques.
· 5 years of Heavy-Duty transportation equipment / parts sales experience.
· 3 years of sales management experience.
· 3 years mechanical engineering experience.
· Specific experience with temperature, pressure, controls experience.
Required:
· Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and applications ability.
· 5 years related industry experience.
· 2 years related industry sales experience.
