Summary of ideal candidate: 

This candidate demonstrates a deep understanding of the complex sales process required for selling to engineering firms as well as channel management for technical product sales into industrial markets.  The primary responsibility of this candidate is to create and execute strategies to achieve significant growth in market share as well as support new product sales.  This position is also expected to select, train, and manage channel partners to support strategic growth initiatives.  This candidate has keen understanding of sales channels to the chemical, petroleum, and energy and power markets including regional requirements.  Proven product and application knowledge is essential. This candidate is expected to be a strong adherent to the Tuthill Business System and Conscious Company.

 

Essential Duties Responsibilities:

Ø  Aggressively work with key engineering firms and key accounts to specify Tuthill products for purchase

Ø  Develop and lead a high-powered distribution group to support strategic growth initiatives

Ø  Align distribution owners and sales champions to meet Tuthill expectations

Ø  Use Tuthill’s Sales Process to strategically plan and execute calls to land new business

Ø  Manage sales funnel to ensure projects close to support monthly sales plan

Ø  Train sales professionals in relevant products and applications

Ø  Sustain existing base of sales through customer satisfaction improvement targets

Ø  Aggressively search for VOC opportunities to improve the fidelity of market/application knowledge and product offering

Ø  Support channel with joint sales calls as required

Ø  Prospect and sell directly to key accounts as required

Ø  Uses Tuthill Business Systems (TBS) and Conscious Company tools to accomplish duties and drive continuous improvements. 

Ø  Travel requirements (60-75%)

Ø  All other Duties as assigned.

 


Qualifications / Training / Skill Requirements:

Ø  Excellent relationship management and selling skills

Ø  Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ø  Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond quickly to customer requests

Education Requirements:

Ø  Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field/experience. 

 

Experience Requirements

Ø  Minimum five years related experience in selling technical products

Ø  Proven experience in selling fluid handling devices or rotating equipment preferred

Ø  Positive displacement pump experience ideal

Ø  Proven record of achievement of sales targets

Ø  Proven success specifying and selling to large engineering firms preferred

Ø  Experience with formal selling processes preferred

Ø  Understanding of TPS (Toyota Production Systems)/Lean Manufacturing desired

Ø  Experience working in a manufacturing environment

Ø  Strong leadership skills

 

Physical Demands:

Ø  Daily Computer and phone use

Ø  Need to be able to lift a maximum of 50 pounds
