Outside Sales Job Description

 

Area:              Extreme Northern Utah and the Mountain Time Zone area of Idaho.

Need:              Approximately December 5, 2011.

Compensation:              Draw against commission - 1st year is salary, D.O.E.

Education:              4-year degree in business or engineering preferred

Experience:              Minimum 2 years proven outside sales

Overnight Travel:              50% (or more) as conditions require

Product(s):              Ingersoll Rand air compressors and related equipment; Travaini industrial vacuum systems; Powerex oil-free compressor systems; Ingersoll Rand TFM products.

 

Cate Industrial Products, LLC is seeking one qualified individual with an intrinsic sense of customer service to fill the above described sales position.  The chosen candidate must ultimately reside in the geographic area detailed above.  This outside sales position at Cate Industrial is an integral and important part of our total customer service team – we are seeking a candidate looking for a long term career, who has the personal integrity to work and learn independently, and who has the proper professional attitude, appearance and demeanor.

This position requires a mechanical aptitude to understand and comprehend the complex nature of industrial compressed air and vacuum requirements, engineering and application and then be capable of communicating this information to a broad range of customers.  The chosen candidate must also be capable of performing basic math calculations and understanding their application in regard to the industrial equipment represented by the company.

As a salesperson, you will be asked to do the following at a minimum:

·         Provide a high level of customer service, responding to customer needs and working to satisfy customer expectations.

·         Develop rapport with customers through effective communication (written and verbal), interpersonal skills, and professionalism.

·         Serve as an ambassador for the company, promoting “The Cate Way”.

·         Be self-directed and have excellent organizational, verbal and written communication, and problem solving skills.

·         Must be proficient in computer use including email, Mircosoft Word and Excel.

·         Effectively plan your time with daily appointments and customer site visits.

·         Prepare and present equipment quotes using software provided by the company.

·         Provide weekly call reports and quote logs

·         Participate in weekly sales meeting to discuss activity and opportunities.

·         Complete monthly expense reports.

·         Work hard to meet or exceed sales goals and quotas.

Before the selected candidate can start work, we must receive the following:

·         A copy of a valid driver’s license issued by a US State agency.  A clean driving record with no DUI’s or other convictions.

·         Valid SSN and other documents proving US citizenship.

·         Must pass a drug screen and background check.

The following items will be provided by the company to help the chosen candidate fulfill their responsibilities:

·         A company owned vehicle.

·         A company owned laptop computer.

·         A company owned cellular phone.

·         Training – which ranges from personal study material to factory provided on-site training classes.
