OUTSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE

Responsibilities

Establish the company's brand and presence in the Alberta marketplace
Proactively call on end users, contractors, integrators, and engineering firms and specific target accounts
Actively work to get on all large project bidders' lists. Coordinate and communicate project activity between branch locations
Support national contracts at user sites as required (presentations, managing shipping issues, cable audits, etc.)
Manage the distributor involvement on all end user activity by working with key individuals at major distributor locations in each market area
Conduct customer seminars explaining the company’s capabilities, and physical, chemical and electrical features, benefits and characteristics of electrical wire and cable products
Attend customer functions
Make semi-annual sales calls in assigned territory
Mentor and lead the team as needed

Qualifications

Comprehensive understanding of basic electricity, insulation and jacketing compounds and environmental requirements
Understanding of electrical codes: IEEE, National Electrical Code, IEPC, IPC, etc.
Self-motivated, conscientious and confident
Mechanical background and/or aptitude
strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
Specialty wire and cable product knowledge acquired through directly related experience, and quantitative/selling skills normally acquired through 5+ years related experience in sales
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Technical diploma or Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering preferred
Relevant industry experience will also be considered

Compensation includes a competitive base salary + commission + car allowance +++
