Founded in 1976 by H. Ray Burleson; the company started in a vacant room over the garage. Realizing his customers had the need for a distributor that had a breath of products; Ray was one of the first distributors to carry tooling and gaging. As the company evolved, along came the calibration lab and repairs to complete the cycle of the products he was selling.

 

Now located at 538 E. Hebron Street, Charlotte, North Carolina, The Tool Gage House is a specialty distributor of industrial tooling, gaging and related products and services throughout the manufacturing industry of the Southeast. Our professional staff is composed of in-house and outside sales representatives, administrative personnel, and quality control technicians. Our facility features offices, warehouse storage, factory authorized gage repair, contract inspection and calibration services.

 

The Tool Gage House’s Quality Services Division, ISO/IEC 17025:2005 certified, is a modern, environmentally controlled, state-of-the-art measuring facility, providing both dimensional and electronic inspection and calibration services, both off and on-site.

 

Currently we are expanding our outside sales coverage in Georgia, Eastern Tennessee and Western North Carolina.

 

Outside Sales Representative Duties and Responsibilities

·         Scheduling appointments, meeting existing customers to review product requirements and to determine other opportunities.

·         Effective planning to conduct sales presentations by meeting customers physically on daily basis.

·         Performing professional demonstrations or presentations of company products or services while on-site.

·         Liaison between the company and the customers for up-to-date condition on pricing, service and latest product release launches.

·         Generating and developing non-customer accounts in order to increase revenue, through cold calling.

·         Continuously updating all customers on company product modifications, changes, and enhancements.

·         Responsible for continuing knowledge growth of our products and the application of products by way of vendor training, in-house training and personal investigation and research.

·         Maintaining professionalism, diplomacy, sensitivity, and tact to portray the company in a positive manner.

·         Effectively attending conferences and trade shows when required.

·         Using marketing data to maximize sales effectiveness and efficiency by using relevant sales management tools.

·         Organizing joint sale calls and attending them with vendors.

·         Preparing reports for management and maintaining expense accounts.

·         Performing updating and maintenance of customer database including contact names, e-mail and contact numbers for future sales.

·         Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.

·         Sales forecasting and customer service skills.

 

Education and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in related field from an accredited institution or 5 years of sales experience in the industrial distribution industry or 5 years of experience in manufacturing, assembly or quality control.
