Outsourcing Risk Control Officer recruitment
Objective
The primary objective of Outsourcing Risk Control is to work with the established operational risk framework across the Group and ensure that identified and emerging risks are properly assessed and have adequate remediation plans to reduce risk to an acceptable level.
The Outsourcing Risk Control Officer will be a specialist in his/her own field with a broad understanding of business processes in one or more business areas. As a Risk Control Officer, you will work in partnership with senior management to ensure residual risks from outsourcing are mitigated and controlled, and establish a forward looking anticipatory risk profile of outsourcing enabling the business achieve its goals and objectives. You will be established as leading industry risk specialist, ensuring UBS has the best in class practises and approach to risk control.
Key responsibilities include:
• Risk Assessment Analysis
o Assisting in the development of centralised information and decentralised Outsourcing risk metrics across the critical functions and Business Divisions, including forward looking components
o Analysis and follow up on controls assessments within the assigned Business Divisions
o Assessment of known Outsourcing weaknesses and the adequacy of associated remediation activities
o In partnership with other key areas, coordinating root cause analysis on Outsourcing risk events and, where deemed relevant, benchmarking analyses on events that occurred in the industry
o Establish a forward looking control view of emerging risks
o Providing support and subject matter expertise to the business divisions to enable their understanding of the risks associated with outsourcing
• Remediation Reporting
o Management of cross divisional remediation programmes
o Conducting the Group Outsourcing risk assessment and provision of status information to relevant Business Divisions and Outsourcing oversight committees
o Provide specialist support to Regulatory and External Audit committees, including preparing formal control responses.
• Framework, Strategy and Education
o Providing specialist input to risk framework enhancements, supporting the Head of Outsourcing Risk Control
o Supporting education and training initiatives with specialist knowledge and assistance.
Requirements
We are looking for a candidate with strong relationship building and communication skills who has a demonstrated ability to work effectively with and influence people across organizations.
The candidate must be a self-starter and entrepreneurial with relevant experience in a global organization and a good knowledge of banking, capital markets, trading activity and cross-product support functions. This role requires specific technical knowledge and practical experience of outsourcing including transition, contract experience and supplier lifecycle management best practises.
- Control expertise – Possesses good knowledge of internal control design, traded product front-to-back processes, cross-product support (incl. roles and responsibilities) and risk management principles.
- Business experience – Has experience in a global, multicultural, performance-driven organization; has experience in process and organizational design; knowledge of regulatory challenges with regards to outsourcing
- Industry experience – Is able to demonstrate experience and knowledge of different outsourcing types, and best practises, including location and service provider trends with regards to managed services, output based services etc.
- Core competencies include strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex issues succinctly; Ability to influence and persuade senior management; Good relationship management, and project management; Strong business analysis and problem solving skills; Comfortable with ambiguity; Self starter with a track record of success and progression; Motivated to increase personal competency and professional status
