Packaging Engineer Job in Albany, New York Us
Job Description:
· Position will be responsible for driving packaging standardization globally across the businesses using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
· Responsible for packaging related projects to include package design, package process development and optimization, cost reductions and supporting manufacturing efficiency efforts as well as identifying packaging related defects and driving resolution.
· Will lead the conceptualization, initiation, development, and commercialization of new and improved packages and processes including design generation, prototype development, specification development, and functionality testing.
· Champion the company’s Management of Change processes as they relate to packaging and ensuring that packaging costs are well integrated into product standards.
Requirements:
· BS/BA in Packaging Engineering or very closely related degree required.
· MS/MBA a major plus, as well as CPS, PCP, or other industry certifications.
· 5 + years in Packaging roles related to requirements.
· Ability to develop plans and implement packaging modifications and improvements globally.
· Ability to effectively lead cross pole projects.
· Ability to mentor engineers globally on basic packaging standards.
· Participates as a member of the Global Packaging Council.
· Solid understanding of Packaging Equipment Systems a must.
· Knowledge of basic labeling control practices.
· Familiarity with GPM and EHS regulations as they pertain to position.
· Working knowledge of Lean/Sigma methodologies, certification a major plus.
