PACKAGING ENGINEER Job in Raleigh 27609, North Carolina US

Packaging Engineer with cGMP experience and extensive knowledge of consumer packaging design and engineering WANTED  for a premier company located in the vicinity of Raleigh and Fayetteville, NC.  Positions of this nature typically have a salary range to $75,000 and includes a full benefits package.

There are some mandatory requirements for this position.  You will not be considered unless you meet the following requirements:

1.  BS in Engineering with 2 to 5-years’ experience in the design, development and execution of consumer packaging in an FDA regulated industry such as medical device, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, consumer packaged goods company.  Strongly prefer Packaging Engineering degree.

2.  Experience in primary through tertiary packaging design and development.  Extensive experience and knowledge of packaging materials including plastics, cardboard, laminates, films, glass, etc.

3.  Experience with design control projects and requisite documentation required for packaging changes and to move new packaging ideas and designs into commercialization. 

4.  Strong knowledge of various engineering tools such as statistical process control and design of experiments.  Ability to write validation protocols for processes and packaging equipment5.  Some knowledge of injection molding, blow molding, and or metal forming required.

5.  Ability to commute to or relocate to the Central North Carolina area.

* Confirms packaging design by conferring and collaborating with purchasing, production, and marketing departments.
* Maintains professional and technical knowledge by tracking packaging innovations; attending educational workshops; reviewing engineering and marketing publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
* Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new packaging legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
* Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
* Documents actions by completing engineering logs.
* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
