OUR CLIENT
Is a new dairy products manufacturing business with a brand new facility. The business will produce the full spectrum of dairy products for the local and international market in the region - including liquid milk, yoghurts and ice cream. The new factory has recently emerged from pre- production trials to full scale production and is in the process of launching multiple products. The business is located in Azerbaijan on the Caspian Sea. The region is principally geared to the oil extraction and refining industry and has created fantastic opportunities for businesses to contribute to the wealth creation of the area.

THE PACKAGING TECHNOLOGIST ROLE
Think new business and the packaging function- You're it!!
• Your role will be multifaceted, working closely with marketing, RD, operations, procurement and suppliers.
• As Packaging Technologist you will manage packaging specifications and populate and control the packaging database.
• You will define and control manufacturing and purchasing standards to meet quality, performance and cost parameters.
• You'll work with the factory to ensure trials of new and proposed packaging materials contribute properly to performance and efficiency on the production line.
• The team is enthusiastic, ready for a challenge and works together for success- We're expecting the same approach from the successful applicant.

THE CANDIDATE
We can only consider candidates who have significant experience in a food industry sector, preferable as a Packaging Technologist
• This is a great opportunity for someone who relishes a challenge and is prepared to develop their career in an unfamiliar environment demonstrating resourcefulness and management capability.
• You will need to be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline and be confident in your ability to initiate and run multiple concurrent packaging activities from first principles.
• You'll be a confident presenter and a practical solutions provider all rolled into one and you'll love the idea of being able to use your skills and initiative to contribute to the success story.
• Above all you'll be a team player able to work well in a pressurised environment and to demonstrate the kind of work ethic that supports the business as it grows.
• Resourcefulness needs to be a key attribute, although you will have the support of your mentor and manager you will have considerable autonomy and freedom. In this overseas location you will need to be absolutely rigorous in managing your time and the performance of suppliers.
