PACS ADMINISTRATOR

Plans, designs and maintains the Picture Archive and Computer System (PACS) used by all Denver/Boulder local market radiology departments. Essential Functions: - Implements and maintains PACS system to include image data maintenance and image archive and display. - Works with information technology to efficiently process data information. - Documents system requirements; acts as a liaison between radiology staff, radiologists, and ordering physicians in designing the structure of system. - Trains radiology staff and other users (as needed) on how to use the system; acquire electronic images; QC image data; display image data and archive image data. - Integrates PACS system to provide efficient processes for radiology interpretation. - Performs other duties as requested by management. - In addition to defined technical requirements, accountable for consistently demonstrating service behaviors and principles defined by the Kaiser Permanente Service Quality Credo, the KP Mission as well as specific departmental/organizational initiatives. - Also accountable for consistently demonstrating the knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors necessary to provide superior and culturally sensitive service to each other, to our members, and to purchasers, contracted providers and vendors. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: - Five years of experience in the clinical area is required. - Three years with system implementation, maintenance, documentation and training with a radiology or similar system. - bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Health Care Management, Radiological Technology, or related area is required. - Equivalent experience in a related area may be substituted for education. - Additional system experience may be substituted for the clinical experience. - Demonstrated knowledge of radiology (or similar) information systems is required, in addition to word-processing, spreadsheet/graphics and database applications. - Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, are required, as well as the ability to vary communication according to the expertise of the user. - Demonstrated abilities in leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications: - Quality assurance involvement preferred. Preferred Skills: Desire strong working knowledge of network communications and network principles. Familiar with Windows XP, Window 7, Linux, SQL and writing SQL statements is a plus. Knowledgeable with DICOM and DICOM structure is equally important. Previous experience with AGFA PACS and / or GE IDX RIS is strongly desired as well. Rotate schedule. Work holidays/nights/weekends. Salary: $26.78 - $36.20 Hourly
