Horizon Oil Sands
Horizon Oil Sands is an exciting part of our growth.  Full production capacity for Phase 1 is 110,000 bbl/d of fully upgraded, light, sweet synthetic crude oil.  We will see incremental production gains throughout the completion of future expansion and debottlenecking, with targeted full facility capacity of approximately 250,000 bbl/d.  Further phases of expansion will bring the ultimate capacity to 500,000 bbl/d.

This position is based in Fort McMurray, Alberta and is eligible for:
* Relocation to Calgary or Fort McMurray
* Company Sponsored Fly In/Fly Out and Camp Accommodation Program with charter flights available from Calgary or Edmonton

Position Summary

THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Panel Operator will operate the DCS control panel on a rotating shift basis to ensure the success of Upgrading Operations plants at the Horizon Oil Sands contributing to optimization of plant production and ensuring a safe work environment at all times.

HOW WILL YOU MAKE YOUR MARK?
* Operate a DCS (Distributed Control System) Control Panel and monitor the unit using the Delta V System to ensure safe and efficient process operations
* Discover the layout, purpose and ideal operating parameters of units
* Participate in and coordinate process start-ups, shut-downs and isolations
* Responsible for troubleshooting and problem solving
* Ensure product specifications are maintained as indicated by the daily sampling of product streams
* Maintain a log of process conditions, changes and upsets
* Participate in safety audits and programs

QUALIFICATIONS:
* Typically 3+ years of related industry experience with High School diploma or equivalent
* 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate, 3rd Class is preferred
* Familiarity with and understanding of:
   o Oil Sands field and Control Room Operation
   o Commissioning, start-up, shutdown and turnaround
   o Delta V DCS Control System
