Castleton Commodities International (CCI) is hiring a Paralegal in Houston, TX to support legal functions relating to energy acquisition, trading, and operations.
Responsibilities Include:
Primary responsibilities will include assisting the Sr. Counsel and working on the following types of activities.
(1) MA: Assist with due diligence efforts; assist with purchase agreements; assist in the creation and coordination of closing checklists internally and with the counterparty to ensure an orderly closing; personal responsibility for certain items related to the acquisition and the closing; and assist with post-closing items.
(2) Operations: Assist in the legal issues that arise relating to CCI’s facilities, including the negotiating, drafting and administering of master services agreements and/or equipment purchase agreements.
Required Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a corporate legal environment in an energy company, or 5 years of experience at a law firm with heavy emphasis in energy, corporate and/or commercial transactions
- Bachelor’s Degree. Paralegal Certification is a plus
- Working knowledge and extensive experience with above types of transactions
- Detailed-oriented
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite - Word, Excel, Power Point; Westlaw and/or LexisNexis
