Security Clearance: Public Trust
REQUIRED
- Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications [i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc...) and WordPerfect Office Suite.
- Paralegal Certificate. An equivalent level of legal training may be substituted with approval of the COTR.
- At least two years of litigation paralegal experience; One year of experience in automated litigation.
- Thorough Knowledge of research tools such as Westlaw and Lexis Nexis.
- Hands on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including databases and presentation products such as Concordance, Sanction and Power Point, etc...)
- Ability to obtain a security clearance.
DESCRIPTION
This position is in support of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission at the Denver Regional Office located at 1801 California Street, Denver, CO 80202-2656. The Employee works under the direction of Supervisory Paralegal or designated Supervisor.
- Following established guidelines, gathers, prepares, summarizes relevant materials for use by attorneys in preparation of opinions, briefs and other legal documents; summarizes depositions and other transcripts.
- Maintains case files
- Performs moderately complex legal research.
- Indexes, tracks and controls exhibits and other materials at depositions and at trial.
- Assist with trail preparation.
- Assist with court presentation needs(ie: Power Point and Sanction. Prepare Exhibits for testimony and depositions.
- Transition investigative cases to the trial unit.
DESIRED
- Experience working in a government or legal environment.
- Ability to consistently deliver highest quality of work under extreme pressure will be very important.
- Trial experience, helpful.
- Active security clearance, preferred.
