This position is for Case Intake. Your position entails explaining our services and court procedure to prospects and folllowing up.
We are a fast-paced law office that takes in a larger number of new uncontested matters each month. We need a case intake person with knowledge of family law procedure for uncontested divorces and annulments, as well as bankruptcies, and living trusts. You will also act as an assistant office manager with a few duties. Pleasant, upscale work environment.
Requirements:
* Must be a self-starter who can work with little to no supervision, and can overlook the position of the case manager as assistant to the office manager. You will be trained and guided on how we do things in our office, but we expect you to know how to explain the basics of family law procedure, bankruptcy, and living trusts to prospective clients before you start your job. Much of this can be found on our websites, however, you MUST know how to process divorces through Family Court.
* Prefer a current Nevada notary but will consider an otherwise great candidate.
* We will give priority to individuals with knowledge of family law as well as bankruptcy and living trusts, a B.A. in English, experience in law office sales, and current Nevada notary.
* Must be proficient with Microsoft Outlook and have good general knowledge of the Internet.
Duties include the following:
+ Direct communication with clients by phone and in person about divorce, annulment, bankruptcy, and living trusts. All clients make initial contact with our office.
+ Coordinate with our document typist and type family law documents on occasion.
+ Notarize client documents
+ Other miscellaneous duties such as ordering office supplies, sharing some duties with the case manager, and executing tasks for the off-site office manager.
Compensation:
$14 to $16 per hour depending on experience plus $15 for each case you bring into the firm. We typically take in 30-45 cases per month. Our marketing team is working towards having a larger number of prospects to make contact with our office to greatly increase this number.
Work Hours:
Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in an upscale office setting. One-hour lunch from 12:00 to 1:00 or 1:00 to 2:00 (coordinate with case manager so that someone is always there to answer the phone during business hours) on your own time.
Work Environment:
Upscale office in upscale building, nice lounge with kitchen and latte and coffee and tea machine at your disposal.
Experience and Requirements:
+ College degree preferred - minimum of an Asssociate's degree with an emphasis on English
+ Either a Paralegal Certificate of hands-on experience in a family law office of at least 1-2 years.
+ Superior writing skills
+ Full knowledge of family court procedure (joint petitions, complaints, process service, publication)
+ Enough knowledge of bankrtupcy to get a prospect to come in for a free consultation with our attorney (all info on our website)
+ Enough knowledge of simple living trusts to talk to prospects about our services (all info on our websites)
+ Computer programs: Windows 7, Word Perfect, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook.
+ Exceptional phone communication skills with assertive, clear speaking phone voice and full command of English
+ Must be able to pass a background check and a drug test
+ Must be a current Nevada notary or be able to qualify to become a notary.
+ Superior work ethic (must be verifiable with at least three recent work references)
