Part qualified Accountant 1st/ 2:1 Accounting Degree- Investment Bank
A well known international Investment Bank in the city is looking to recruit Part Qualified CIMA/ ACCA/ACA/ candidate for the position Cost Decision Support MI and Investment Accounting Analyst to support the Finance team. Your focus is on providing support to the local and international team in order to deliver MI to Function heads including the monthly cost flash, monthly management reporting packs and assisting with the enabling functions budgeting and planning cycles.
Responsibilities:
-Ownership and production of monthly Management Reporting packs for the Enabling Functions, including understanding key drivers to explain monthly and quarterly movements, as well as year-on-year movements and variances to forecasts
-Involvement in the monthly income statement cost flash process for Senior Management
-Processing of central journals and adjustments to Management Accounts
Maintain accruals, prepayments and expense balances on a monthly basis, and take ownership for substantiation and sign-off of Balance Sheet accounts
-Reconciliations between Management Accounts and Statutory Financial Accounts prepared under IFRS
-Apply technical skills and management accounting knowledge to critically assess current state processes and re engineer prioritised improvements
-Building up and maintaining good relationships with the wider finance team
Be involved in the vital value add to the standard monthly MI
-To accurately account for benefits and incentive compensation awards for the International Bank within the SAP general ledger
-Maintain incentive scheme accruals and expense balances on a monthly basis
-To review, document and improve incentive accounting and MI production processes
-To build a strong and lasting partnership within Finance and Human Resources based on mutual respect and strong personal relationships
-During month end process, regular reviews of the incentive schemes cost base to ensure management are fully updated on expected monthly costs
Skills:
-Must be degree qualified (ideally Finance based subject)
-Studying toward being an Accountant (CIMA/ ACCA/ ACA)
-Ambition - committed to becoming a fully qualified accountant
-Solid MI experience in a corporate environment is a must
