EXPERIENCED PART-QUALIFIED INTERNAL AUDIT SEMI SENIOR FOR PUBLIC SECTOR AUDIT TEAM OF SOUTH COAST BASED ACCOUNTANCY PRACTICE
Our client is an established accountancy firm and they are seeking to appoint an experience public sector internal audit semi senior for their public services practice on the South Coast.
As a member of the internal audit team, and reporting directly to the Internal Audit Partner and Managers, you will be responsible for delivering risk based internal audit work to a range of clients including local authority and NHS sectors. Client satisfaction is of paramount importance and you will need excellent communication and written skills, and an ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
The role will include assisting with planning internal audit work programmes and setting of control objectives; performance of internal audit fieldwork including closing meetings with management; preparation of draft internal audit reports; and assistance on other special assignments (e.g. fraud investigations, effectiveness reviews) as and when required.
You will also be responsible for providing on the job advice and training to junior auditors and supervision of junior staff, controlling audit assignments from planning through to preparation of draft reports in line with agreed timescales and acting as a point of contact for both manager and client, ensuring both are kept fully informed of any issues arising and the progress of the audit;
It is likely that the successful candidate will be educated to degree level and part qualified or in the process of training for a recognised qualification – ACCA, MIIA, CIPFA or equivalent, with experience of delivering internal audits in professional practice or in-house team in the public, not-for-profit or private sectors. NHS or local government internal audit experience is desirable. They will need to have a sound technical understanding of technical issues surrounding the sector, be able to present a professional image to the firm’s clients and have excellent written and verbal presentation skills.
