Overview:
The Passive Asset Management Business Unit (BU) is one of Asset Wealth Management's (AWM's) business units and focuses on the development and implementation of passive strategies and products for institutional and retail clients. The team is small in size (ca. 50 staff on the manufacturing side, 35 dedicated distribution specialists + infrastructure functions) and runs around 100 billion Euro Assets Under Management (AUMs). In Europe it is ranked #4 in passive asset management and the #2 provider of Exchanged Traded Funds (ETFs).
Ambitious and stated growth plans include the launch of new products, the establishment of new formats (eg. non listed / mutual funds) and the opening up of new geographies.
The role will have significant interaction both with all levels of staff in the BU and with other Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Infrastructure teams elsewhere in AWM. Whilst the role will be principally focused on the European business, we expect some parts of it to cover the Asia and Americas regions. The position is an ideal position from which to learn the uniqueness of a fast-moving industry (passive asset management) and will allow the successful candidate to develop and extend its knowledge and skills.
Key Responsibilities:
As the team is now integrated inside AWM and given its strategic ambition we are looking to recruit a business manager to be part of the European (EU) COO team (3 people). The role will be focused on the following areas:
- Business management duties, e.g., policies compliance monitoring, ownership of seating plan, headcount tracking, co-ordination of New Product Approvals (NPA).
- Project duties, e.g., support to project management of various "change the bank" (CTB) initiatives such as: alignment with risk organisation, development of a physical replication capability.
- Analytical duties, e.g. analysis of travel spend, market data spend, competitive analysis.
