This position is responsible for the daily operation of the Patient Access department, ensuring adequate staffing to meet customers’ needs, as well as accurate and timely registration of patients.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to directing the daily activities of personnel in the Patient Access department; ensure adequate staffing is maintained on a 24-hour basis; select, train and evaluate subordinates and initiate personnel actions in accordance with HR policies and the organization's philosophies; timekeeping; responsibility for department's yearly budget; producing month reports and statisical summaries; performing all tasks on time in a professional manner.
Knowledge of legal and technical aspects of admitting, third party insurances and scope of responsibility in treating indigent patients is preferred. Bachelor degree or equivalent preferred. Minimum of five years of registration experience and five or more years of supervisory experience in a Patient Access Department or acute hospital setting required.
