POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for establishing visits for all patient types. This is the first step in the patient care and billing process so accuracy and thoroughness are critical for patient safety, compliance, excellent customer service and fiscal health. Assigns a medical record number, when appropriate. Collects accurate demographic and financial information under strict confidentiality in compliance with EMTALA, HIPAA, and all applicable regulations.


REQUIREMENTS

minim 2 years of experience in an acute care hospital, primarily in hospital-based registration or billing. Course in Medical Terminology or completion of SVMC Medical Terminology course prior to start date. High school diploma or GED preferred. Good interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills required. Must be flexible with the ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment. Must be Bilingual (English/Spanish or Korean). Must be able to use good judgment when performing duties. Los Angeles Fire Card within 30 days of hire.
