Patient Account Representative Job in Nashville 37201, Tennessee US
Performs unpaid claim follow-up for status and resolution. Submit replacement and/or corrected claims as necessary to third party payers using McKesson STAR, and ePremis systems.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Contact with third party payers for current claim processing and payment status as outlined in IASIS follow-up procedures.
- Communicate with payer, facility and/or patient/guarantor to resolve claim resolution delay issues.
- Assist with identifiation, location and resolution of unapplied payer payment posting.
- Verify claim Financial Class and balance when reviewing and working accounts.
- Document account activity in accordance with IASIS guidelines.
- Makes recommendations to department leadership of improved processes for submission, follow-up and/or claim resolution.
Skill or Experience Requirements:
- High school or equivalent
- Previous hospital billing and follow-up experience
- Working knowledge of third party payer regulations
- Working knowledge of UB92/UB04 and submission requirements
- Excellent communication skills for telephone
- Excellent computer skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
