PowerHealth Solutions Limited (PHS) is a fast growing, ISO 9001 accredited, Australian, software development company specialising in healthcare business systems. Our customer base includes healthcare organisations throughout Australia, New Zealand, North America, Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.
With an established market for our health costing products and our recent success in winning a contract, from the Health Service Executive, to undertake Patient Costing Studies in up to twenty (20) Irish hospitals using data for 2010 and 2011, we are seeking a management accountant for a temporary position until the end of November, 2012.
Given the impending introduction of activity based funding in Ireland in 2014, this position will provide the successful applicant with a wealth of experience to enable them to effectively participate in the new growth area of Patient Level Costing.
About the Job:
This challenging but rewarding position encompasses a variety of duties including:
- Helping to formulate policies and procedures in relation to the conduction of the 2010 and 2011 Studies;
- Providing assistance and advice to the hospitals involved in the Study in relation to the preparation of their financial and patient level data, both on-site and remotely;
- Pre-processing and reviewing the supplied data from the hospitals and documenting identified issues;
- Processing and reconciling the finalised data in PowerPerformance Management (PPM);
- Reviewing and analysing the integrity of the results and providing feedback to the hospitals;
- Developing output reports using Microsoft Access (or SQL) to enable the hospitals to review and analyse their results at the patient and encounter level; and
- Actively participating in Team meetings to review the progress of the Studies.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be self-directed and be able to learn new skills and ideas quickly;
- Be an effective communicator, team player and be responsive to client needs;
- Have exceptional time management and organisational skills;
- Have developed skills in the use of Microsoft Excel / Access or SQL;
- Have completed, or be completing, qualifications in Business, IT or a health related discipline with a strong academic record;
- Have a good understanding of management accounting concepts, particularly costing principles;
- Preferably have a good knowledge of the Irish healthcare system and its application at the hospital level; and
- Have postgraduate experience preferably in a healthcare environment.
Job Conditions:
Employment is offered on a full-time, temporary basis until November 30th, 2012. It is however possible that the position may continue beyond this date. Remuneration will be based on experience and qualifications.
Some travel within the Republic of Ireland will be necessary, which on occasions may require an overnight stay. Travel to our UK or European sites may also be required.
