UW–Madison Office of Human Resources is currently recruiting for multiple Payroll Benefits Specialist project positions in the UW Service Center (UWSC). UWSC serves as the central payroll and benefits office for the entire UW System with over 71,000 individuals paid and over two billion dollars in annual payroll.
Payroll Specialists will have responsibility for analysis of missed payments and off cycle check production, managing the daily bank report, and research/resolution of employee distribution payments. For a longer description of payroll responsibilities, please visit:
Benefits Specialists will focus on the enrollment management and reconciliation of all benefit plans (e.g., health, life, disability, vision, dental, tax shelter annuity, deferred compensation). For a longer description of benefits responsibilities, please visit:
Ideal candidates will be self-starters and quick learners with the ability to learn a new payroll system (PeopleSoft HCM). Positions require excellent mathematical skills, customer service skills, strong attention to detail and accuracy, and ability to problem solve, organize, prioritize, and multi-task work assignments. Work experience in payroll or benefits a plus.
The project positions are eligible for the state of Wisconsin benefits package and are initially anticipated to last for 12 months with some overtime required. Starting rate is between $16.338 - $17.668 per hour.
