Payroll & General Assistant

An established Accountancy Practice in Thame is looking to recruit a full time or part time member of staff to join their friendly team. 

Due to the volume of work they are looking for someone with good technical payroll experience to work as a part-time assistant in the payroll department with the rest of their time spent working in other areas of the practice as dictated by their own interests and the needs of the practice. The payroll element is likely to take up 2 days a week, with this increasing in busy periods or to cover staff  holiday or illness. Outside of payroll the role can involve helping with tax returns or company secretarial, depending on your interest and the needs at the time. 

The ideal candidate for this role will have solid technical experience of payroll but also be curious about the other areas of work in the practice and keen to learn in order to assist in these areas. They must be open to learning technical skills as well as being committed to delivering outstanding client service and being prepared to take responsibility for their own work. You must be prepared to question and engage with the work you do, querying the client as appropriate and ensuring that all work is finished on time and to the highest standard. You will be responsible for your own portfolio of clients in the payroll department and will be expected to liaise with them as required. This role would suit someone who has payroll experience but is looking for an opportunity to gain a wider experience in Practice with a view to progression in the future.
