Payroll Manager

My client, a leading insurance provider is looking to recruit a Payroll Manager on a ten month fixed term contract based in Manchester City Centre.

This role consists of managing a small team of payroll assistants and overseeing the payroll process. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely payment of all employee salaries ensuring specified deadlines are met and both employee and third party payments are processed accurately and within the statutory guidelines. The successful applicant will also ensure all year end procedures are adhered to including the distribution of P35s, P60s and P11Ds.

Whilst ensuring all payroll duties are managed efficiently this role will also consist of managing the personal development and performance of the payroll team. This includes monthly one to ones with the team, coaching, developing and identifying team weaknesses and addressing these issues.

The successful candidate will have an in depth payroll knowledge and have previous experience of managing a small team. Working within such a busy environment candidates must be able to demonstrate workload management and delegation skills.
