Involved in all aspects of payroll, this position will oversee the entire end-to-end function and assist the team with relevant queries, award interpretations and payroll legislative requirements.

Job Description

This position will manage a team of 6 employees and oversee the end-to-end processing of a large fortnightly payroll within Australia and New Zealand. You will have a comprehensive understanding of all relevant payroll legislation including federal and state government tax legislations, award interpretation, terminations and redundancies, superannuation, payroll tax, PAYG and workers compensation. You will be involved in the ongoing training and development of your team whilst being a mentor. Your role will required you to adapt to a constantly changing environment and drive process implementation.

Additionally, you will be required to perform all reporting responsibilities, reconciliations and conduct bi-annual performance appraisals for your team via set KPI's.

The Successful Applicant

To be a successful applicant, you will have prior experience managing a team in a high volume payroll environment (1000+ employees). You will demonstrate your ability to deal with all payroll legislations; especially federal and state government payroll tax legislations, award interpretations and workers compensation. Experience using SAP/Micropay is essential in this role. You will have great leadership skills, proficient communication skills and a positive working attitude.
