Payroll Officer

PAYROLL OFFICER - FINANCIAL SERVICES / BANKING - CITY OF LONDON - £40K - 45K

An established Banking group based in the City of London is seeking an ambitious and dynamic Payroll Officer. Please note the strict requirements of this role below and apply accordingly:

· Member of Institute of Payroll Professionals (IPP) or equivalent through work experience.

· Proven and up to date working knowledge of Local and Expat Payroll processes and principles

· Up to date knowledge of Real Time Information (RTI)

HMRC reporting · Good understanding of employees’ mobility and expatriation / impatriation issues from a fiscal standpoint

· Knowledge/understanding of HR accounting:

· When to use a P L account and when a control account Debit/credit entries

· Allocation of expat expenses / income

· Solid experience in administering group personal pensions and defined benefit schemes

· Knowledge of Auto-enrolment

· Previous experience in banking is essential

· Experience of providing advice and support to managers and employees on all payroll and tax matters.

· Expertise in Local and Expat Payroll

· Excellent knowledge of Microsoft package and other HR software

· Previous experience gained in an international banking/financial environment

Able to carry out independently the following activities:
· Monthly payroll for the UK staff, involving all aspects of PAYE and HYPO tax calculations

. Salary Sacrifice scheme, issuing P45’s, dealing with tax and NIC queries

· Ensure compliance with HMRC requirements: good knowledge of HMRC procedures/RTI

· End of Year (P60, FPS/RTI), PSA Agreement, P11d’s P11D (b)

· Inputting of expenses on the monthly payroll and ensuring claims are compliant with policy.

· expats’ tax returns and all HMRC end of year returns

· Reconciliation of the monthly payroll accounts.

· Produce costing and bookkeeping reports

· administration including remittance of contributions and statements

· on-going administration of Auto-enrolment
