Payroll & Pensions Specialist

Responsibilities

Payroll
Calculation and processing of UK and Irish payroll and resolution of payroll queries.
Year end duties and reporting activities.
Administration and development of RTI requirements.

Benefits
Benefits in Kind (BIK) – update, monitor and audit benefits in kind, process year end requirements to calculate tax liability for all employees receiving benefits.
Calculation of Class 1a National Insurance on all benefits and ensure paid to HMRC within specified time limits.
PAYE Settlement Agreement - initiate agreements with HMRC prior to each tax year and agree computations, ensuring tax/NI liability is paid to HMRC within specified time limits.
Relocation - register all relocation costs per employees, having awareness of UK legislative limits.

Company Cars
Administer and develop business mileage capture system.
Monitor and audit mileage reports and deductions for payroll for private fuel.
Review and update spreadsheets for all invoices, fuel, rental, incidentals.
Control annual employee choice of private fuel reimbursement or BIK.
Issue P46 (car) quarterly to HMRC.

Miscellaneous
General ad hoc tasks and reporting as required.
Calculation and provision of statutory and corporation tax data relating to salary, directors and benefits.
Occasional travel between sites as data provision requires.
Profile

Education Requirements
GCSE's or equivalent

Work Experience Requirements
Payroll experience essential
Basic accounting knowledge advantageous
Up to date knowledge of UK employment legislation and general knowledge of taxation and regulations affecting payroll
