Payroll Project Manager

We are recruiting for a Deputy Payroll Manager with excellent experience in payroll, and ideally with management experience. This is a busy team that deliver payroll services across the whole of the UK. We are looking for a diligent individual able to lead a team to deliver results and ensure we meet our service level obligations.

What are my responsibilities?

· To motivate the Payroll team to deliver excellent service to a prescribed set of service levels. To manage the quality and accuracy of the teams’ output and to drive direct reports to own the relationship between the requestor.

· Management of team of approximately 7-12 employees made up of Payroll Administrators with varying skills from PAYE experts to Data processors

· Responsible for ensuring that all outputs from the team are quality checked to ensure that quality standards are met or exceeded and drives productivity to ensure that SLA's KPI’s are met

· Organise and plan the schedules of Payroll Administrators. Responsible for workforce planning within the team to ensure holidays, sickness etc are covered appropriately

· Monitor delivery of service from an operational perspective ensuring best in class and performance against SLAs. Take action to address identified problems and opportunities, maintains performance data records and produces required reports

· Implement improvements to systems and processes

· Maintain effective communication with staff about team, departmental and organisational topics. Manage communication regarding complex issues to customers, outside agencies, HR colleagues or individual employees as required

· Monitor and assess staff performance against agreed objectives, and conducts 4 Success/regular 1:1s / Personal Development Plans

· Provide recognition and encouragement to support staff motivation

· Foster team work and co-operation both within and between teams including 'virtual' helpdesk staff

· Resolve complex/specialist queries/complaints escalated by team members acting as the key contact with the customer when complaints are received.

· Provide cover for Payroll Manager during periods of absence

· Responsible for ensuring all Compliance requirements are met. This includes Sarbanes Oxley (SOX), other Payroll related legal requirements and embedding a robust internal control environment.
