The Payroll Specialist II will report to and work closely with the Sr. Payroll Manager. Provide a dedicated payroll for the US payroll and will provide information to outsourced providers. In addition to processing the Bi-Weekly and Semi-Monthly payroll, the Payroll Specialist II will be involved in special projects and ensuring SOX compliance.
To succeed in this role, the jobholder will be highly analytical, organized and methodical. They will have an attention to detail and be able to build relationships with internal and external partners. They will act with the utmost integrity, discretion and confidentiality.
Position Responsibilities:
- Responsible for processing semi-monthly payroll for approximately 1500 employees which will include performing and completing specific payroll production processes (e.g. process new hires, terminations, status changes, leave of absence (STD, LOA), 401K contributions, tax changes, deductions, direct deposits, computing and processing time sheet data, pay rate changes, retroactive adjustments and special pays; maintain vacation, sick leave and worker's compensation records; compile reports on base and premium pay; calculate checks; research and produce special reports).
- Responsible for processes specific to payroll (e.g. Garnishments, Award Recognition, Employee Stock Option Exercise (ISO and NQ), RSU, ESPP, W-2, and 1099 reporting).
- Provide quality customer service to all clients, resolving client questions and problems in a timely manner.
- Participate in non-recurring projects related to payroll processing (e.g. system upgrades, tax updates, and modifications to existing and/or newly introduced company or vendor applications).
- Maintain accurate payroll records and implement new processes to improve productivity.
- Assist with 401k and SOX Audit and process data files to and from external benefit and 401k administrators
- Provide ad-hoc reports and analysis.
- Ensure accurate and timely tax reporting and compliance with state and federal regulations within the U.S. (W-2, Form 1099)
- Knowledge of federal and state tax and labor laws.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related area.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing a multi-state payroll operation of 1000 employees
- Hands-on project management skills and meticulous attention to detail

- Proficient with the Microsoft Office (including Excel)
