Payroll Specialist Job in Foster City 94404, California Us
*3 plus month contract
Essential Duties and Job Functions :
Perform assisting role in processing semi-monthly multi-state payroll, including, but not limited to:-Set direct deposit,-Set deductions, -tax changes, -monitor email inquiries into Payroll Help box and respond to employees,- new hires-terminations – Kronos. Support other payroll staff in providing full payroll coverage for 2200 employees as needed-Review timesheets in Kronos and run Smartlink interface-Provide Kronos support –Collaborate and interface with Human Resource counterparts. Ensure Sarbanes Oxley compliance by adhering to strict Internal Control requirements, maintaining updated documentation for all payroll related processing. Maintain complete and accurate employee files-Identify and participate in process improvement projects, including assisting with various system implementation and upgrades.-Participate in the integration of payroll function for acquired companies-Special projects and opportunities as assigned
Knowledge, Experience and Skills :
-Demonstrated ability to be successful in a fast-paced, high growth environment
-Strong organizational skills
-Solid understanding of payroll processes, including multi-state
-Ability to effectively prioritize and balance multiple projects and process
-10+ years payroll processing experience in integrated or interface environment with working experience on partnership and collaboration with other function departments
- Exposure to project management, systems implementation, upgrades and testing
- Systems knowledge on ADP PayForce/ADP Enterprise or comparable Payroll systems for mid to large size company preferred
- Systems knowledge on Peoplesoft HR and/or comparable HR systems for mid to large size company a plus
- Kronos time and attendance; multi-state payroll (medium to large size); Microsoft suite; Access database; Visio, etc.
- Knowledge of federal and state labor laws and compliance; knowledge in Section 401a, Section 125, deferred compensation plans, third party sick pay regulations
Required Skills:
Systems knowledge on ADP PayForce/ADP Enterprise, 10+ years payroll processing, multi-state payroll (medium to large size)
