Payroll Systems Consultant Job in San Antonio 78205, Texas Us
Key responsibilities/accountabilities:
- Provision of technical support and advice in the maintenance and support of the company's payroll systems encompassing areas such as salary and wage payments, deductions, time attendance, sub-contractor processes, reporting administration, general ledger, integrations, and related areas
- Complex analysis and evaluation of complex technical payroll procedures, controls and information and documentation systems
- Ability to design, reconfigure code mapping and extract data from payroll systems
- Contribution to the climate of active continuous improvement of processes, procedures and systems
- Ensure payroll systems remain fully operational at key processing and reporting times
- Tracks, logs, prioritizes, and assigns requests, communicates status and updates plus metrics regularly
- Must partner well with others and be able to extract critical information with a touch on current projects
Competencies required (knowledge, skills and abilities):
- Experience with Workday SAAS, Peoplesoft and/or Oracle solutions preferred
- Payroll/HRIS implementation experience required
- Advanced skills in payroll computer systems, including payroll software and time and attendance systems
- Knowledge of relevant acts, regulations, policies and agreements relating to payroll administration, compliance issues such as Sarbanes-Oxley and segregation of duties, 401k administration, stock plans, current trends and developments in payroll etc
- Research, statistical and forecasting methods used in payroll analysis and management
- Ability to analyze and evaluate work methods, design and implement payroll systems and procedures, ensuring “best practice” policies, work processes and procedures are established
- Effective utilization of computer equipment and software in the performance of duties
- Analysis of payroll data and practices and apply pertinent laws, regulations and principles
- Ability to meet deadlines
- High level written and spoken communication including preparation of clear concise instructions, manuals and reports
- Highly organized and detailed tracking, logging, reporting
- Presentation skills
- Advanced skills in Excel, Access and Power Point
- Ability to train others in specialized payroll practices and procedures
