POSITION: Payroll/Benefits Specialist
LOCATION: Chicago, IL
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Administers all aspects of multi-state, semi-monthly payroll
• Administers all monthly, quarter-end, and year-end payroll activities, including regulatory reporting
• Manages workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
• Ensures accurate payroll interfacing with 401(k), accounting, and benefits processes
• Administers time and attendance programs
• Maintains HRIS employee records and serves as subject matter-expert on HR systems.
• Manages employee benefit enrollment activities
• Acts as liaison between employees and benefit carriers as needed
• Evaluates and is subject matter expert on employee health welfare benefits plans
• Administers leaves of absence programs
• Fosters effective employee communication across the organization
• Administers various programs to maintain compliance with federal and state regulations
• Develops ad hoc reports as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
• 3+ years of experience in processing multi-state payrolls
• Strong knowledge of payroll best practices
• Experience in HRIS administration - UltiPro experience strongly preferred
• Experience in day-to-day administration of wide-variety of employee benefit plans
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of federal, state and local payroll and HR regulations (DOL, ERISA, etc.)
• Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Organized, extremely detail-minded
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills
• Utmost integrity and adherence to confidentiality is the mainstay of this position
• Ability to work independently
• Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred
