Position Summary: The Patient Care Technician performs delegated duties consistent with his/her scope of practice, under the supervision of the RN and assists with direct patient care; functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care delivery at SMC. Qualifications: : I. Position Requirements: A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current BLS Certification. CNA License Preferred B. Education: High School diploma or equivalent. C. Experience: Nursing Assistant education preferred. D. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Demonstrates good communication and behavioral management skills that promote safety of confused or suicidal patients.. III. Degree of Supervision Required: Under supervision of RN. IV. Orientation Period: Minimum of 2 shifts contingent upon experience.
